Okay so I'm not slacking, really I promise.

I didn't make a new ami today for the ami of the day, well I should say I didn't complete one today. I started a new project today... one that I am actually writing down and will probably test and sell. I think its going to be AWESOME.... I can't say too much as I want it to stay a surprise but for all of you who don't know what to make your pre-teen to teen daughters/grand-daughters I may have the solution. I guess we will see :D !!!
As for the pic, its just my daughter being silly as usual!
Hope everyone is well and happy!

Land of the midnight sun, I told yah so!

This is the view outside my front window at 12:15 am
This is the same view at around 2 AM
So when you hear talk of Alaska being the land of the midnight sun, its no joke. Makes it easy to have all night volleyball tournies and BBQ's that last ALL NIGHT! Heck if you go out to the bar/club its still light out when you leave, talk about confusing when you have a buzz, LOL! So sure its cold and dark in the winter time but we mke up for it with INTENSE marathon summers. I highly recommend a visit if you get the chance.
Have a good one!

Todays ami... Teeny Tiny Taco

So its silly but i made my Chili a taco, "Yo quiero taco bell" (sp?)and all that. LOL! I know there are chi lovers out there that will appreciate this one. Sorry about the low pic quality, but I had to use the phone camera since my camera battery died, POOP! Its all the pictures I took at the zoo, and all the goofy kid pics I have been snaping left and right this summer.
The sun finally came out from behind the clouds tonight and I am debating some pics at 11 or midnight tonight so I can show you how bright it is. Makes it hard to go to bed and have a normal sleep schedule, not to mention sit inside and crochet.
Hope everyones summer is kicking some A@#!!!

Todays ami... little Bamboo.

So a friend of mine has a very small office space (cubicle, lol) and she doesnt have a lot of space for any greenery. I decided that just wouldn't do. Meet little Bamboo, he stands at about 4 inches tall and is a little ray of sunshine. I might have to write this one down or something he is just too cute and really fast to make. I later decorated the pot with little flowers made out of buttons, I just can't stop using buttons lately.
Let me know what you think...

First post here... attempt at one anyway.

So this is my first post here and I am hoping it doesn't suck, lol! I am going to be using this as my crochet/craft blog (thats right, another crafty blogger) so if you aren't into crochet or crafts you are in the wrong spot! I am really into amigurumi (who isn't?) and afghans. Though my daughter is def more of a fan of the ami so thats what gets made more often, lol! I am new to ami but picking it up pretty quickly and trying my hand at making some patterns, if they work out I will try to pass some along!

I have been crocheting since I was 8, so since 1986... or so. I love just about all types of yarn craft but esp crochet. It has a soft spot in my heart because my Great Grandma Baird taught me how , and her and I spent a lot of time together crochet and gossiping. It made me feel very special and like I was very importand and all grown up.

The pic up top is my fave pic of my GG when she was young... so glamorous!!
So in my posts here I will be exploring crochet and making pretty things in her honor!
